May 17 - 21, 2010
The Westin Lombard Yorktown Center
Chicago, Illinois, USA
Special Session on Security in Wireless
Ad-Hoc Networks and Wireless Sensor Networks
(SWAN 2010)
CALL FOR PAPERS
As part of
The 2010 International Symposium on Collaborative Technologies and Systems (CTS 2010)
http://cisedu.us/cis/cts/10/main/callForPapers.jsp
Submission Deadline: January 18, 2010
SCOPE AND OBJECTIVES
Wireless sensor networks (WSN) and ubiquitous sensing have the potential to change the way
people live and work in the same way that the Internet did in the 1990s. While the
foundations of the Internet were created without security in mind and many plaguing
problems resulted, there is an opportunity to build security into WSNs from the
outset. Security must pervade every aspect of WSNs from the ground up - it cannot be
layered atop the final product. Therefore, the CTS Special Session on Security in
Wireless Ad Hoc Networks and Wireless Sensor Networks (SWAN 2010) will look at security of
all facets of wireless networks, from sensor nodes themselves to the physical, link, and
routing layers and network communications, up to complete WSN systems and
applications.
Possible session topics include (but not limited
to):
- Intrusion and Malicious Behavior Detection
- Detection of Insider Attacks and Countermeasures
- Secure Routing Protocols
- User and Localization Privacy
- RF Signature Analysis
- Key Distribution
- Small-Footprint Encryption in Resource-Constrained Environments
- Cost-Effective Anti-Tamper Mechanisms
- Trust and Reputation Approaches to Ensuring Security
- Lawful, Auditable, and Restricted Monitoring and Surveillance
- Economics of Wireless Security
SUBMISSION INSTRUCTIONS
Authors are invited to submit original and unpublished papers to the special session
organizers by January 18, 2010. Electronic (PDF) submissions are encouraged and
should be sent to
bin.wang@wright.edu
and
xuan@cse.ohio-state.edu
. For other electronic formats, please check with the organizers. Papers
submitted for review should not exceed 10 pages in IEEE single-spaced, double-column
format. Additional pages will be charged at additional fee. Include up to 6
keywords and an abstract of no more than 350 words. Submissions should also include
the title, authors name, affiliation, e-mail address, fax number and postal address.
In case of multiple authors, an indication of which author is responsible for
correspondence should also be included. If accepted, the final manuscript will
follow the CTS 2010 format that is available on the conference Web site at
http://cisedu.us/cis/cts/10/main/callForPapers.jsp
.
Consistent with standard practice, each submitted paper will receive a minimum of three
reviews. Papers will be selected based on their originality, timeliness,
significance, relevance, and clarity of presentation. Initial selection will be
based on full papers. Submission implies the willingness of at least one of the
authors to register and present the paper, once accepted. All accepted papers are
required to be presented and will be included in the conference proceedings.
Instructions for final manuscript format and requirements will be posted on the CTS 2010
Symposium web site later. It is our intent to have the proceedings formally
published in hard and soft copies and be available at the time of the conference.
